Code of Conduct (CoC)
This Code of Conduct (CoC) outlines the values, principles, and expected behaviors for all individuals associated with the Foundation, including board members, staff, volunteers, and partners.
1. Purpose
The Foundation is committed to fulfilling our purpose: To Care for People and Planet and Inspire a Better Singapore.
Our mission centers on supporting initiatives that contribute to the betterment of the community, particularly those that uplift lives, protect the environment, and spark collective action toward a more compassionate and resilient Singapore.
2. Values and Principles
The Foundation is committed to the following core values:
- Respect for individuals and communities
- Commitment to sustainability and social responsibility
- Inclusivity and non-discrimination
These values are put into practice through our guiding principles, which are anchored in the Foundation’s three strategic pillars of Environmental Sustainability, Human Excellence, and Social Sustainability:
- Environmental Sustainability – we act responsibly to protect the environment, promote sustainable practices, and support long-term ecological balance.
- Human Excellence – we foster respect, integrity, and continuous growth for individuals, teams, and communities we engage with.
- Social Sustainability – we advance inclusivity, equity, and social responsibility to ensure fair and lasting positive impact.
3. Governance and Accountability
All persons acting on behalf of the Foundation shall discharge their duties in accordance to the Code of Governance for Charities and IPCs with integrity, transparency and professionalism, and in the best interests of the Foundation’s objectives.
Any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest shall be declared, and the conflicted individual shall refrain from participating in related deliberations or decisions.
Annual reports, audited financial statements, and other disclosures required by law shall be prepared diligently, published in a timely manner, and made accessible in accordance with applicable requirements.
4. Respect and Inclusivity
The Foundation shall ensure that the voices, dignity, and interests of its beneficiaries are respected and prioritised in the design and execution of its programmes.
The Foundation shall maintain a safe and respectful environment for all beneficiaries, partners, employees, and volunteers.
5. Communications and Transparency
The Foundation shall provide stakeholders, including regulators, donors, beneficiaries, and the public, with sufficient information to enable informed understanding of its mission, activities, and use of resources.
The Foundation shall foster a culture of openness, curiosity, and constructive feedback, encouraging reflection, dialogue, and collaboration.
Communications with stakeholders shall be conducted respectfully and professionally. The Foundation shall, where practicable, respond to legitimate enquiries within a reasonable time.
6. Review and Continuous Improvement
All programmes, policies, and initiatives shall be periodically reviewed and evaluated to ensure their continued relevance, efficiency, and impact.
The Foundation shall actively seek opportunities to adopt best practices, leverage technology responsibly, and embrace new approaches that enhance its charitable purpose and maximise positive outcomes for its beneficiaries and the wider community.
This Code shall be reviewed by the Foundation at least once every two (2) years, or earlier if required by changes in law or governance standards.
